Drama education isn’t just about teaching drama skills. It’s about empowering students with courage and self-confidence. We love working with educators, and we’ve run a variety of projects in schools. Here are some examples:
- A ten-week course of workshops bringing Shakespeare to year 9 students, culminating in a performance of Macbeth (abridged)
- A rehearsal period and school production of Oliver
- Assistance with year 11 students in their Drama GCSE improvisation skills and performances
- A weekend of drama introducing students to Shakespeare
- An enrichment program for year 12 students
- An inset day at a primary school, designed to train teachers and classroom assistants to utilise improvisation and role play with children years 1 to 6
- Citizenship, PSHE and Every Child Matters programs
- To come: THEATRE SLAM! Drama Workhouse is producing Theatre Slam. The project aims to introduce young people to some of the UK’s leading performing arts practitioners, culminating in a performance in a West End theatre.
